Volgaburmash - Production

All the processes involved in drill bit production exist within Volgaburmash facility.  The company's shops are equipped with the up-to-date equipment from the leading machine manufacturers of USA, Germany, Italy and Switzerland.

Modern machine centers have been installed for the main leg and cone machining operations ina a single setup; Single-pass drill machines allow all tungsten carbide insert holes to be produced; New high accuracy vacuum and chamber furnaces for carbonization and heat treatment are capable of consistently maintaining process design requirements; Automatic welding machines using the plasma process.

Meeting the highest industry standards, carbide inserts are produced in our metallurgical shop using the latest equipment for preparation of high quality tungsten-cobalt mixture and a vacuum gas static sintering furnaces.

Drill bit final assembly is also a critical operation.  For this purpose Volgaburmash has a special room used for the assembly of drill bits and utilizes an automatic greasing machine that assures proper bit greasing.
